We’re all doing it. It’s only natural.
I’m growing older as I write this sentence and it’s happening to you right now as you read it.
Now, I’m not sure how you feel about this—I’ve felt a little overwhelmed by it all many times. But what if this whole process of aging is actually better than what we’ve imagined? Let’s hear what a few wise people who have been doing it for a while have to say about growing older.
They make it seem pretty wonderful.
“The thing that bothers me is my kids are 60 years old. I’m getting young and they’re getting older.”
The video below isn’t just one of the ones that have left me the happiest right after watching it. It’s also the one that has given me the most tangible action to apply to my life. (I’ll list the reasons underneath the video.) But please, let yourself have 5 minutes to sit and be happy. This wonderful film from creator Jenny Schweitzer Bell is so worth your time. Maybe after, we’ll each feel all a little more at ease with wherever we may be in this experience.
Isn’t that wonderful?
Let’s go over the advice they gave about growing older that stuck with me:
- Being curious keeps your brain young
- Have a passion. Feed the passion.
- Take advantage of every day.
As I go, I’m learning that these can be done in small steps. That if you listen to your interests and give them the space to exist, you’ll be able to do all three in no time at all. So… what is it you want to do?
